It equips you with all the professional skills, practical experience and technical knowhow you need.Our BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography is ranked first for graduate prospects in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017 and earned a 100% satisfaction rating in the 2017 National Student Survey. It is approved by the College of Radiographers and the Health and Care Professions Council so you can register as a diagnostic radiographer on graduation.Approximately half of your time is spent on clinical placement in different settings to give you insights into the varying workloads, practices and roles you will encounter in radiography. Our leading-edge facilities include a purpose-built diagnostic imaging suite with the latest x-ray, radiography, ultrasound and bone densitometry systems. A state-of-the-art immersive suite also offers a simulated environment to practise your skills in a realistic setting. This course is also available with a Foundation Year.

With a lot of modern medicine (and dentistry) using high-tech equipment, there are big opportunities for medical technology grads, although most early careers are spent operating these complex instruments, rather than designing or developing them. We are short of graduates in these roles, with radiography a particular area of concern and becoming one of the most in-demand specialities in the health industry and whilst this cannot guarantee you a job, outcomes are very good for graduates and this looks likely to continue.
