Logistics is all about ensuring the right goods get to the right place, at the right time and in the right condition. Our Logistics and Supply Chain Management degree offers you the skills to manage the web of national and international connections which make up complex supply chains.

Technology and globalisation have radically altered the way in which organisations operate. More logistics professionals than ever before are needed to keep the wheels of business turning. Long-distance trade is nothing new – the Silk Road provides evidence of continent-spanning supply chains dating back thousands of years. However, once shipping containers provided a common standard for transporting goods by road, rail and sea, trade was changed forever. Coupled with advances in information systems and communications, modern commerce can now be managed with unprecedented levels of efficiency and competitiveness.

Our Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM) degree aims to educate multi-talented supply chain professionals and executives who can take a ‘big picture’ view of commerce, and the role their organisation plays within a collaborative network. We’ll explain how international trade offers opportunities to achieve competitive advantage through effective communication, management and material flow within supply chain operations. You’ll explore how goods and services can be marketed on the basis of quality, service level, lead time and sustainability credentials – not just low cost.
