Our Cyber Security degree will give you the knowledge you need to become a specialist within the important and growing area of cyber security.Any organisation that has a computer network or uses the Internet has a potential security risk and will need help to protect their systems and data. If youre interested in becoming a computing professional within the growing area of cyber security, we will give you the knowledge you need to become a specialist.The course combines theory and practice, as well as cyber security. You'll learn the underpinning technical areas of hardware, software and networked systems.Youll also get to use our dedicated, self-contained lab. The lab has its own private internal visualised network and contains some of the latest security equipment and software including biometric measurement equipment.On successful completion of study, we will issue the following award: BSc (Hons) Cyber Security

What do graduate employment figures really tell you?

There are a lot of computing courses out there, and they vary a lot in content, modules and the way they work with employers, so individual courses can have very different outcomes. This is a course where you really need to get a good grade — employers really pay attention to the class of your degree and a low grade will serious hit your prospects. But you can get a job on pretty much any industry in the country with a computing degree - and organisation with an IT system and a web site needs graduates in this discipline - and many employers report difficulty in finding graduates. So most students do get jobs, and starting salaries are good, particularly in London. If you want to find out more about the prospects for a computer science course at a particular institution, it's a good idea to go on open days and talk to tutors about what previous graduates went on to do.
