The synergy between society and business is constantly evolving and our Business Management course provides a stimulating and thorough approach to modern business. Building on your problem-solving, analytical and communication skills, whilst learning about central themes in business practice, our Business Management full-time top-up programme will offer you a taste of many different aspects of business.

As you explore such topics as innovative change management, authentic leadership, data & decision making as well as carrying out a consultancy project, you'll learn how to apply problem solving and decision making to a range of business situations.

Change management is a key part of all business today and we teach you about dealing with conflict and changing organisational cultures, to gain maximum effectiveness for the organisation. We also teach you economic principles and analytical skills, to make sure you know how to research markets, prepare reports and drive overall organisational success, preparing you for an exciting career in the fast-paced environment of business, whether your ambitions lie in working for a multinational company or for yourself.

Modules

You will be taught via a combination of lectures, tutorials, industry visits and independent study over the course of 2 x 15-week semesters. A typical 20 credit module will include 12 weeks of compulsory class attendance along with one independent reading week and 2 weeks for assessment revision and submission. You will study 60 credits per each 15 weeks. All students take a total of 120 credits for level 6, which when combined with your previous qualifications will add up to the 360 credits required for the degree as a whole.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods depend on the modules you will be studying. The primary methods of assessment are coursework and evaluative assignments, digital portfolio development, in-class tests, presentations (both individual and group) and examinations. Most modules include a Tutorial Assessment, which carry a weighting of around 10% and your attendance and participation in class will be reflected in the awarded mark.
