Access to HE Diploma
Access - an Access to HE Diploma with at least 45 credits at level 3 and 15 credits at level 2. At least 15 level 3 credits must be at merit grade or above, from a QAA-recognised Access to HE course, or an equivalent Access to HE certificate.

This must include at least 64 points from 2 A Levels or equivalent BTEC qualifications. You also must have an A level in French or an AS level at grade C in French. For example: BBC at A Level including an A level in French A combination of qualifications, which may include AS levels, EPQ and general studies, with an A Level in French or AS level grade C in French.
About this course
Develop critical insight into the theory and practice of teaching and foreign language acquisition.
Learn two languages and give yourself a head-start in the teaching sector.
Study and work abroad and gain hands-on experience of the education environment. Erasmus funding may be available to support costs for overseas study.
Gain understanding of the language, culture and economic context of your two target countries.
This degree enables you to become proficient in the French language and to gain excellent understanding of the French culture, society and economic context. You will study a second foreign language, with German and Spanish offered from any starting point and Italian from beginner's level.
Modules on the degree will focus on areas such as linguistics, second language acquisition, classroom management strategies and teaching techniques. You will have ample opportunity to work alongside foreign speakers of English, including through teaching practice.

No matter which you take, the general theme is that some graduates go to that country to work, often as English language teachers, some go into further study, often to train as teachers or translators, but most get jobs in the UK in education - most often as language tutors, unsurprisingly, or translators. Modern language grads can also be in demand in business roles where communication and language skills are particularly useful, such as marketing and PR, and in finance or law. But remember — whilst employers say they rate graduates who have graduates who have more than one language, you need to have them as part of a whole package of good skills.
