In this course, you will develop your knowledge and understanding of how the different components of sport and exercise science can be applied to help improve performance, health and lifestyles within a number of different contexts and situations. As the course is endorsed by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Science (BASES), you can be sure that the content you will receive will be of the highest quality and regulated at all levels.

You will gain first-hand experience across all of the major disciplines related to sport and exercise science, including physiology, nutrition, biomechanics, psychology, strength and conditioning, performance analysis, business and enterprise and physical activity and health. You will learn the theory behind a number of performance-related factors linking to the aforementioned disciplines, and the application of these theories both in the field and in a laboratory setting and you will develop your understanding of how to programme and prescribe to a wide range of individuals.

You will develop your laboratory and practical skills through the utilisation of our laboratories and world-class equipment, our state-of-the-art fitness and S&C facilities and our contemporary specialist software. You will also develop your understanding of world-leading research, how to design and implement appropriate research designs and how to analyse and interpret the data that you collect.

You will also get the opportunity at all three levels to developing your employability skills, go out on a full time placement and undertake real-world simulations current practices in applied sport science and research. This will all be facilitated by our team of world-leading practitioners, lecturers and researchers, who will ensure your learning is contemporary and current.

Core Module: Project in Sport and Issues in Sport and Physical Activity, plus a range of optional units from Applied Psychology of Sport and Exercise, Applied Physiology and Nutrition of Sport and Exercise, Applied Biomechanics of Sport and Exercise, Physical Activity Programming for Special Populations, Managing Sporting Enterprises, Strength and Conditioning for Sport Performance and Applied Analysis of Performance in Sport and Exercise.
