This is because its more than green and lovely, its a place of research and academic excellence too. You would start this course with the Business Foundation Year. This gives excellent preparation for a wide range of subjects relating to business, management, accounting, finance and economics. The programme consists of a set of modules that has been approved by Keele Management School. Following completion of the Business Foundation Year, you would begin an Accounting (Combined Honours) course. A Combined Honours course means you will study Accounting with one other subject area, allowing you to gain a wider range of expertise by the end of your course. You can choose which subject to combine Accounting with from a range of pre-selected Combined Honours choices. Visit keele.ac.uk/ugcourses/ to see the full list of combinations available. During the Accounting element of the combined course, you will study accounting theory and practice and gain practical experience in the use of a range of professional tools such as Bloomberg and Sage in our dedicated computer laboratory enabling you to interact with real world data. You will learn how to prepare, analyse and interpret accounting data and can choose to enhance this practical experience by taking an industrial placement year between years two and three of your studies. Typical modules covered on the course include accounting principles, financial accounting, taxation, management accounting and advanced financial reporting. Keele enjoys high rates of graduate employment, where in 2016, were recognised nationally as 1st for employability in the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education survey. A high percentage of business leaders have finance backgrounds, and accounting has one of the highest graduate employment rates. With the increasing internationalisation of business and the capital markets, you will have extensive opportunities. You might work as a chartered accountant, chartered certified accountant, chartered public finance accountant or chartered management accountant. What do graduate employment figures really tell you?

You don't have to be an accountant if you take this degree, but over half of graduates take a look at the rewards on offer for accountancy trainees and go into the job. Many others go into other parts of the finance industry as advisors or book-keepers, and some go into management or marketing. London is very popular for accountancy graduates going into their first job, but it's also quite common to work in Scotland, with Glasgow a perennial hotbed of Scottish accountancy recruitment.
