Grade A in a Maths based EPQ and ABB at A Level including A in A Level Maths OR Grade A in a Maths based EPQ and BBB at A Level including B in A Level Maths
GCSE/National 4/National 5
GCSE English Language grade C or 4
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
including 6 in HL Maths Analysis and Approaches or 666-665 in 3 HL's including 6 in Maths Analysis and Approaches. Higher Level Maths Applications and Interpretations will be considered on a case-by-case basis but is not accepted as standard for entry.
DD in BTEC plus A in Maths at A-level. Any BTEC accompanied by Maths A-Level.
Scottish Advanced Higher
Grade A in Maths required. This offer will exclude General Studies and Critical Thinking.
The Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate Skills Challenge Certificate will be accepted in lieu of one A Level at the A Level grades specified, excluding any subject specific requirements.

About this course
The BSc in Mathematics at Cardiff is flexible, allowing you to specialise as you progress through the course or to maintain a broad range of modules from the major branches of mathematics.
This particular version of the degree allows you to spend your third year studying abroad before returning to Cardiff for a final year. The School of Mathematics has agreements with institutions across Europe, the United States, Canada and Australia, and you will have support to apply for your overseas year.
The BSc course has an essential core of pure mathematics linked with modules from applied mathematics, statistics, computing and operational research and you will sample all of these branches in your first year.

This is one of the most flexible degrees of all and with so much of modern work being based on data, there are options everywhere for maths graduates. With all that training in handling figures, it's hardly surprising that a lot of maths graduates go into well-paid jobs in the IT or finance industries, and last year, a maths graduate in London could expect a very respectable average starting salary of £27k. And we're always short of teachers in maths, so that is an excellent option for anyone wanting to help the next generation. And if you want a research job, you'll want a doctorate — and a really good maths doctorate will get you all sorts of interest from academia and finance — and might secure some of the highest salaries going for new leavers from university.
