This course is a Tech Industry Gold degree, accredited by The Tech Partnership. During this course you will play a leading role in mobilising IT and information systems to deliver business efficiency and a competitive edge.
This course was designed to address the skills gaps reported by employers, who have often complained that computing graduates lack the business and 'soft' skills required by industry. As a result the ITMB is now one of the most employable degrees being offered by UK universities.
This course will prepare you for a fulfilling career in management or consultancy roles within the IT industry. You will be given a professional advantage by learning core business and management skills at the same time as developing the IT knowledge and technical skills required by the industry.
One of the highlights of the degree is the involvement of Tech Partnership employers throughout the course. To keep abreast of the latest developments in the IT industry, industry specialists will present regular 'guru lectures' on a range of cutting edge topics.
This course features an industrial placement year. This gives you the opportunity to obtain further work experience with ITMB industry partners, helping you to secure employment on graduation.
IT graduates generally have a good record of achieving employment and progressing in their professional work. Popular paths for graduates from this course include IT management and consultancy.

What do graduate employment figures really tell you?

Information systems courses cover a range of areas, including information design, modelling and the finance industry. How well graduates did made a particular difference in 2015 — computing graduates with good grades were much less likely to be out of work after six months. Most students do get jobs, though, and starting salaries are good — particularly in London, and that’s where over a quarter of graduates started work last year. This is also a good degree to take if you want to follow a technical role in the finance or advertising industry.
