      The upside

Some of the psychology lecturers are absolutely fantastic and will push you to your limits when attempting to get you to gain knowledge to excel on your course. Free parking in halls was an added bonus as many uni's charge for this, and free passes for cheaper parking on the university site is a fantastic idea too. Whether done purposefully or not, my flatmates in first year were mainly local to me back home (I'm from the Midlands but was at uni up north) and this allowed me to have more things in common with them, and things we could talk about more.

League table rankings

Here's where this university ranks in the three main league tables (where available), which are calculated using a combination of stats that they each weight in different ways. They’re a handy guide but don’t offer the full picture – just because a university is top (or bottom) of the league tables doesn’t mean it is (or isn’t) the right choice for you.

More on what university league tables really tell you.

Where it's located
