This course focuses on the principles and structure of DNA and how that knowledge can be applied to understand illnesses and develop treatments. Sheffield offers plenty of flexibility: after the second year, you can switch to any other undergraduate course in the Department of Molecular biology and Biotechnology (MBB). You can graduate after three years with a BSc or choose the optional fourth year which includes an extensive research project and leads to the qualification of MBiolSci.
