From viral videos to personalised web content, you’ve seen and shared the work of digital marketers. This BA (Hons) Digital Marketing degree course can help you take the next step to join their ranks.

You’ll get a grounding in marketing while developing your digital skills. You’ll harness your creativity and learn to create content that captures an audience, communicates a message as well as understanding how to interpret digital data to drive results for organisations.

This course sets you up for an exciting career in a marketing team. You’ll be ready to work in web, media or service across a number of industries such as retail, finance or tourism.

Modules

The first year will introduce you to the main functions of business and provide you with firm foundations of both marketing and digital media operations. In your second year you will develop your understanding of marketing and build on the learning from year one. You'll also begin to tailor your degree, choosing a range of options from general business as well as marketing and digital media disciplines. In the final year you will reinforce your core marketing understanding and specialise further in the digital media subject areas. You will also have a choice for your final year project from either dissertation, business theory research, work-based learning, or a business consultancy project.

We appreciate that different students have different learning styles and so we provide a range of assessment approaches to suit everybody including mini-projects, presentations, group work, live client work, examinations, multiple-choice tests, essays and portfolio work.

Want to join a fast-moving, diverse industry that's at the cutting edge of tech? Try marketing! A lot of the jobs are in London, but graduates don't just go to work in advertising agencies — all sorts of industries do their own marketing these days, and with the rise of digital and mobile technology, a lot of marketing is done in quite innovative ways using a wide range of methods. Common industries (apart from advertising and PR) include recruitment, online retail, higher education, banking and IT. What do graduate employment figures really tell you?

There are a lot of computing courses out there, and they vary a lot in content, modules and the way they work with employers, so individual courses can have very different outcomes. This is a course where you really need to get a good grade — employers really pay attention to the class of your degree and a low grade will serious hit your prospects. But you can get a job on pretty much any industry in the country with a computing degree - and organisation with an IT system and a web site needs graduates in this discipline - and many employers report difficulty in finding graduates. So most students do get jobs, and starting salaries are good, particularly in London.
