Including one A Level (or equivalent) in Science or P.E./Sport We will generally make you an offer if your predicted grades are at the top of this range and you meet any subject specific requirements (where applicable). If your predicted grades are towards the lower end of this range we can still consider your application but will also take into account subjects studied at Level 3, your GCSE (or equivalent) profile and/or relevant non-academic achievements, references and your motivation for study.
About this course
**Supports fitness, health, and elite performance with our Sport and Exercise Nutrition degree**
Explore relationships between nutrition and physical performance with our inter-disciplinary Sport and Exercise Nutrition degree. You will develop solid foundations in theory and practical skills, covering topics like:
- macronutrients and micronutrients
- social psychology
- physiology.
Our Sport and Exercise BSc is designed in line with the Sports and Exercise Nutrition Register’s (SENR) guidelines. Therefore, you will build crucial knowledge and skills for future employment.

You will have access to our world-class sports facilities, and British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) accredited labs, such as:
- Fitness and Conditioning Suite
- Performance Hall
- Nutrition Suite
- Exercise Physiology Laboratories.

**Real-world experience**
You can complete internships at clubs where you'll work directly with athletes. As a result, you'll enhance your skills, network, and employability.

First year modules include Health Skills, Introduction to Nutrition One, Introduction to Nutrition Two, Introduction to Research, Physiology of Exercise and Sport Performance
Assessment methods
A wide range of assessments are used to help develop key skills for both academic and employment purposes.
Assessment methods include essays, poster presentations, web-based assessments, oral presentations, and both practical and written exams.

This is the subject you need to study if you want to become a dietician — an important job in the country’s healthcare sector, and the single most common job for nutrition graduates. We don’t have many graduates in nutrition every year and with the population becoming more aware of health and well-being and with many medical needs being addressed by the application of specific diets, this is likely to be an area of increasing demand in the future.

Top job areas of graduates
One of the fastest growing subjects in the country, the number of sports science graduates went from under 3,000 in 2003 to over 10,000 in 2013. Numbers have fallen slightly since 2015, but we still have over 9,000 graduates in the subject. However, the good news is the country's appetite for good health and fitness - and the adaptability of graduates in the subject - means that sports science grads are less likely than average to be out of work. Sports science graduates, not surprisingly, tend to get jobs in sport, fitness and health - coaching and teaching especially - but they're found all over the economy. Management and business are also popular options for graduates from this subject — and sports science graduates are particularly found where drive, determination and physical fitness are an advantage.
