Joint Honours degrees give you the maximum flexibility to study subject areas that really interest you. You can shape your study according to your strengths, interests and career ambitions. SPANISH can be studied at beginner or GCSE level where you won't need any prior knowledge of the language. NTUs Spanish courses are in the UKs Top 20 for student satisfaction (NSS 2017). If you'd like to study this at post A-level then you'll need an A-level in Spanish at grade C or above. The course explores a range of interesting aspects of Spanish culture, politics and society and will provide you with an in-depth analysis of these areas, which you'll be able to utilise during your third year where you can spend time either working or studying abroad. ENGLISH at NTU is taught by award-winning and internationally-recognised academics. The course is extremely flexible, offering a broad range of optional modules that allow you to pursue your interests for the written word, from Shakespeare right through to travel writing. This course will enhance your communication skills and will allow you to engage with your creative side. Spanish at NTU has been created to ensure that you gain a quick learning of the language and an in-depth understanding of the societies and cultures in which it's spoken. Youll also have an exciting opportunity to either work or study in Spain or South America during your third year to practically apply your learning and gain additional knowledge. This course will help you to gain an impressive communicative skill whilst developing your accuracy and fluency of Spanish. Our partner universities are in; Alcal, Avila, Len, Madrid, Salamanca, Murcia, Granada, Valencia, Oviedo, the Basque Country and Santiago ( Chile). The course will teach you by using the latest methodologies and CALL technologies. Alongside classes, you'll have access to excellent language resource centres and computer aided language learning software. NTU has a 90% student satisfaction rate for Iberian Studies (NSS 2017).Our ENGLISH course is taught by expert academics and award-winning writers. You'll examine a range of literature such as; Shakespeare, American literature, Black writing in Britain, travel writing and modern poetry. This course has been designed to help enhance your talents and strengths as well as provide you with the skills and knowledge for a successful career, by offering you projects and placement opportunities with our creative partnerships. A degree in English will strengthen your professional and creative writing. English will help you learn how to analyse and critique different variations of communication and teach you effective planning and negotiation strategies. Youll be taught how to think critically and how to contextualise theoretical approaches to the study of English. Our English course has received a 92% student satisfaction rate - The National Student Survey 2016. Languages undergraduates are highly sought after by many of today's leading firms, our NTU undergraduates continue to be recruited by different types of firms located in Spain and Latin America. Spanish at NTU will help you to develop excellent reading and listening skills which will support your fluency and accuracy of the Spanish language, helping you to stand out within the graduate employment market. You'll also gain great time management, team work expertise, critical reasoning, textual analysis skills and problem solving skills.100% of our English joint honours undergraduates are in work or further study within just six months of finishing their degree (DLHE 2015-16). Our undergraduates from this course have gone on to work in a variety of roles including; journalism, teaching English, marketing, publishing, public relations and recruitment.
