Course description

This course is designed to offer you the opportunity to examine the theory and practice of physical education and sport education across education and community sectors. You will be offered insights into teaching and learning theory, and various contemporary issues in education, and approaches to the delivery of physical activity programmes in school and community, and leisure settings are also explored. You will follow a programme designed to prepare you for future work with diverse groups in sport and education contexts so that you can inspire young people to be active.

We pride ourselves on giving good academic and individual support to each of our students. Teaching is varied and assessment is much more than just essays and exams, involving presentations, practical coaching/teaching sessions, portfolios, web design and posters.

When you look at employment stats, bear in mind that a lot of students are already working in education when they take this type of course and are studying to help their career development. This means they already have jobs when they start their course, and a lot of graduates continue to study, whilst working, when they complete their courses.
