City Life
Small enough to know, big enough to explore (by foot too!). It's split into an 'Old' and 'New' Town so has two very different characters.
Lowri, University of Edinburgh graduate
Local pubs like The Pear Tree, Usher's, The Blind Poet, The Brass Monkey and The Dog House are all great (especially TDH for cheap cocktails and cool vibes!).

There's a special place in every student's heart where Hive sits. It's very cheap and the music is great... You can find all sorts of people there.

What students say about living in Edinburgh...

Living Here
I live in the Newington/Mayfield area. A few friends live in the same area, but it’s quite far away from the main hub of the city. It’s also a 15-minute walk to the nearest shop, which is inconvenient when you just want to pop out and grab something.

Living Here
I live in Newington, a neighbourhood popular with other students and lots of locals and families too. It's less than a half-hour walk to the city centre – only thing is there's no free parking.
