Are you an aspiring music manager, record label exec, live event organiser or a business-savvy recording artist who wants to get ahead of the pack with enhanced, future-facing knowledge and skills? This is possibly the most exciting time to be entering the music industry with the digital opportunity bringing a renewed optimism and four years of solid revenue growth. Young, ambitious and skilled new entrants are better placed than most to prosper in the new global streaming economy with many of the rules yet to be written. The skills you can learn at LCCM, including social media marketing, building an audience online with growth hacking, artist branding and data analysis, are in high demand.

Our custom-built music campus is in Central London; you couldn’t be any closer to the action. You will be guided by our experienced tutors - all top level managers, musicians, songwriters or producers. You will benefit from genuine industry expertise and a curriculum designed to steer you towards current and future work opportunities and skill shortages within the industry. By attending a music college, you will be surrounded by like-minded musicians and aspiring music executives as well as regular guest talks and events with our industry partners.

We have a first-hand understanding of how our industry works. You will benefit from studying in small groups, with the ability to choose between four significant optional pathways within the degree. Building upon the core modules, where you learn how the industry works and how to get ahead, optional pathways allow you to build expertise in the following subjects:

Rights & Royalties Management or Studio Recording Skills

Our custom-built campus provides you with a creative environment that is ideal for collaboration and first-class industry facilities, equipment and resources.

Core Subject areas:
• A clear understanding of the dynamics and key organisations within the music business and its sub-sectors
• Knowledge of Intellectual Property law and an appreciation of the complexity of music rights
• An understanding of the cultural, social and musical history of the post-war period to the modern day
• A working knowledge of entertainment contracts, legislation and innovative business practice in the context of music management, music publishing, live events and the recorded music sector
• An understanding of the importance of key legal cases that have impacted on the business of artist managers, music publishers and recording companies
• The latest tactics and tools for successful artist branding and social media marketing
• Familiarity with performance equipment and backline
• Knowledge of how to take recorded music to market ///

• Digital innovation: the ability to design and build technological resources to solve market problems and satisfy consumer needs

Assessment methods

You need a minimum of 96 UCAS points or equivalent for entry to the course primarily from Level 3 qualification such as A levels, a BTEC Extended Diploma or International Baccalaureate Diploma.

You must also have a minimum of Grade 4 (or C) or above in GCSE English Language and Maths, or equivalent, for entry to our undergraduate business courses.

Foundation year is recommended for anyone who has not studied at least one of the following subjects at A Level, BTEC or equivalent: Business Studies or Economics, Music Production, English Language or Media Studies. Entry to Level 4 is subject to entrance interview.

If English is not your first language, we accept a range of recognised language qualifications that are equivalent to the IELTS Academic minimum score of 6.0 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening.
