You would start this course with the Business Foundation Year. This gives excellent preparation for a wide range of subjects relating to business, management, accounting, finance and economics. The programme consists of a set of modules that has been approved by Keele Management School.

Upon completion of the Business foundation year, you would being the Marketing and Management programme. At Keele, this course considers the role and importance of market research and analysis, consumer behaviour and communications alongside a number of business and management subjects. You will learn about marketing and business in the context of social and cultural trends and will be encouraged to apply your learning to strategic decision making. You will also be able to gain wider skills and insights by selecting from a variety of optional modules.

On this programme you can choose to explore concepts and debates in organisational behaviour, accounting and human resource management, including decision making behaviour across the private and public sectors. You’ll explore markets and consumers, their behaviours and how to understand and communicate with them. There are also opportunities to explore branding and cutting edge digital marketing, which have very rapidly evolving skill requirements. Taking a placement year can help you learn how to plan and implement successful marketing and business strategies in real world organisations, reflect on situations and apply what you know.

With a range of lucrative and fast-paced opportunities in the world of marketing and communications, this programme is a great launch-pad for your career after Keele. You will graduate as a confident, analytical thinker – a skill very much in demand among employers. This course will provide you with a wide range of skills to take into business, the public sector or the not for profit sector. Many organisations recruit business management and marketing graduates – not just commerce and industry but also the health services, local and central government, political parties, charities, educational institutions and more. From within this wide range of organisations, you might take up a role as a management or IT consultant, market researcher, media buyer, advertising executive, PR officer, journalist, broadcast presenter or events designer. You could also go on to study for a postgraduate qualification in either subject.
