Performing Arts is a dynamic, fast-growing industry, but it requires performers to have a broader and more complex skill-set than ever before. Rather than waiting passively for audition calls, successful practitioners are proactive in co-developing work. In response, we’ve designed a degree with collaborative performance-making at its heart, and two bespoke work placements.

In our distinctive arts school environment, you can expand your artistic horizons.

This course will allow you to rediscover what performance is and how you create it, developing a comprehensive repertoire of skills, including: acting, movement, voice, writing, directing and choreography. Working in small groups, you will benefit from high levels of individual attention from tutors. Our students also learn the practical skills they need to become successful entrepreneurs in the creative arts, such as: film editing, music making, website design, and business planning. You will create several performances each year, collaborating with professional directors and art, music, and film students. They will be staged in a range of venues from professional theatres, to festivals, and innovative performance spaces. Alongside this rich portfolio of work, you will also learn important marketing strategies to promote your own practice.

**Industry Links**

You will have two bespoke work experiences – one in each of your first and second years. Projects with external directors/ choreographers will also bring you valuable industry insights. Our students run their own performing arts company from the first year of the course. In your second year, you will learn how to write a business plan and set yourself up as a self-employed practitioner.

**After this Course**

You will be ready to take control of your own career as an innovative and self-sustaining performer and theatre-maker. You can explore broader opportunities in the creative arts such as art management or teaching, or transfer your creative and collaborative skills to other areas of employment or postgraduate study.

Modules

Modules are self-standing units of study, and you earn credits when you successfully complete them. As a full-time student you will take 120 credits each year. All Modules are compulsory and can vary in weighting from 20 to 60 credits.
