We welcome A Levels in a wide range of subjects, especially in those relevant to the course for which you apply.

We may consider a standalone AS in a relevant subject, if it is taken along with other A Levels and if an A Level has not been taken in the same subject. However, you will not be disadvantaged if you do not have a standalone AS subject as we will not ordinarily use them in our offers.

UCAS Tariff

A typical offer is between 104 and 120 UCAS points for entry to undergraduate courses, primarily from Level 3 equivalent qualifications such as A levels, a BTEC Extended Diploma or a Foundation Diploma. Due to the creative nature of our courses, you will be considered on your own individual merit and potential to succeed. We encourage you to get in touch if you are predicted points below this range, thinking about transferring from another institution, or if you have other qualifications or professional experience as we may be able to consider you. If English is not your first language, we accept a range of recognised language qualifications that are equivalent to the IELTS Academic minimum score of 6.0 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. If you require a Tier 4 student visa to study in the UK, you must take an approved Secure English Language Test (SELT) to fulfil government visa requirements.

This degree will teach you the technical and aesthetic skills you need to produce, communicate and implement effective fashion marketing campaigns. You’ll learn the theories that underpin marketing principles and develop technical communication and aesthetic skills to help you produce effective marketing strategies. You’ll also discover how communications are fundamental to brand positioning and consumer perception.

Through lectures, seminars, tutorials, workshops and projects, you’ll develop the essential marketing and communications skills required to succeed in the fashion industry.

You will:
- Learn the theory behind fashion marketing and retailing, and develop a critical understanding of the fashion retail landscape

- Be assigned a personal industry mentor to work with throughout the course

- Develop digital skills in a fashion context, including social media strategy, blogging, publishing and web design

- Examine new media communication campaigns used to generate awareness and sales for fashion businesses

- Build your knowledge and skills to develop fashion-focused PR strategies, as well as how to manage a brand’s image through PR strategies

- Study the cultural, social and economic factors that influence consumer behaviour

- Take part in masterclasses, work on projects and complete work placements with our industry partners

- Examine the rise of technology, sustainability and corporate social responsibility and how these affect the industry at all levels

- Complete a self-directed Personal Professional Project that allows you to demonstrate your skills and knowledge, and contextualise these in alignment with your career goals

Modules

Throughout the course you’ll develop the skills and knowledge needed for a successful start to your career in fashion marketing, including communication principles, social media marketing strategies and creative and analytical research. You’ll learn through a mix of classes and lectures, individual study, creative projects and industry enrichment that is integrated throughout the course in the form of masterclasses, live projects, mentorship schemes and work placements.

Year One

The first year of study will give you a comprehensive introduction to marketing and its impact on business and consumers. You’ll explore a wide range of marketing theories and learn about the ethics and regulations surrounding marketing. You’ll investigate contemporary fashion brands and brand identity concepts, as well as innovative communication strategies.

In your second year, you’ll investigate emerging contemporary new media communication campaigns and investigate brands that are pushing marketing boundaries across digital and social platforms. You’ll undertake an individualised project that allows you to showcase your professional knowledge and skills.
