Minimum of 2 A Levels required although other 6-unit qualifications can be considered in lieu of one A-level subjects. Applicants with 2 A Level qualifications or equivalent can combine with AS levels to achieve required points.

Must be considered along with a minimum of 2 of the following qualifications: A-levels, BTEC Subsidiary Diplomas/ OCR Cambridge Technical Diplomas. Can also be considered in combination with a BTEC Extended Diploma, Art and Design Foundation Diploma or UAL Extended Diploma to obtain 80 pts.

60 credits overall - 15 credits at level 2 and 45 credits at level 3 Arts, Media, Publishing, Retail, Commercial Enterprise & Business subjects subjects preferred but other subjects also considered. GCSE English Language and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above or equivalent qualifications must be achieved at application stage.

Must be in a topic related to the degree subject being applied for. Points achieved may be considered if applicant is falling short on A-Level points. Cannot be offered as a standalone qualification.

Overall. "For students who do not already hold a GCSE in Mathematics at Grade C/4 or above grade 5 in Maths (Standard Level) from the IB Diploma will be accepted. For students who do not already hold a GCSE in English Language at Grade C/4 or above Standard Level English Language (not literature) Group A English Group A - Grade 4 or above, OR English Group B - Grade 5 or above from the IB will be accepted. Students who do not complete the IB Diploma and who achieve the minimum of 11 points from two Higher Level subjects, will be considered on the basis of their IB Certificates

Pass the Irish Leaving Certificate with a minimum of 80 tariff points, achieved in four Higher level subjects. This must include Maths and English Language taken at either Ordinary level (minimum grade O1-O4 (or A-C/A1-C3)) or Higher level (minimum grade H5/D1).

This four year programme has been specifically designed to allow students who do not initially meet the entry requirements for a three year degree, to undertake additional level 3 study designed to ensure they are successful on their chosen degree.

After successful completion of your foundation year, you will have the flexibility to switch (should you wish to change direction) onto a number of related undergraduate degree programmes within the School of Fashion and Textiles.

BA (Hons) Fashion Business and Promotion with a Foundation year is for students who would love a career in the fashion industry but not as a clothing designer. You’ll be guided and supported by a staff team that brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from industry, and you will combine fashion, creative and business skills to develop your interests across a range of modules, including trends forecasting, buying, visual merchandising, PR, marketing and events management. You'll develop further employability skills with an industry placement and have opportunities for international exchanges and inspirational trips.

This course teaches you the principles of a range of roles within the fashion industry. It will allow you to understand the process of the fashion industry from identifying the trends to buying the product, marketing and promoting internationally. All work is course-based, and you will work on live projects and industry-led briefs, supported by brands including Whistles, Selfridges, Claire’s and River Island. You will explore new skills in packages such as InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. The course will develop your business knowledge and language, and will prepare you for delivering presentations, writing reports, creating visual mood boards, marketing material and trend books, and build confidence in using online resources, independent learning and research.
