Computer games design

Develop art skills relevant to the fast-moving computer games industry on modules designed with the help of key professionals. Learn how you can make an impact in games creation using visual research, creative experimentation and technical development, by working with programmers, audio technicians and musicians.
This course will equip you with 3D computer games skills in modelling, texturing and animation enabling you to create characters, environments and special effects. You’ll learn how to bring your creations to life with animation and interactive games software such as Unity 3D. You’ll be given access to the latest technologies, and supported by a dedicated Computer Graphics Technical Officer.

Thanks to our close links with other Cambridge School of Art courses, you’ll also get the chance to work with illustrators, animators, graphic designers and film students.

Our flexible modules will allow you to specialise in your chosen areas, and get a head-start on your career path in the digital arts.

With help from industry-based lecturers as well as our core teaching staff, you will learn about current practices for artists working in computer games. We have links with many local games companies including Ninja Theory, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Jagex and Frontier. We're also partners with the Global Science & Technology Forum, allowing our students access to cutting-edge research materials.
