Agriculture is faced with a global task of feeding an increasing population against a backdrop of dwindling resources, the need to protect the environment, and the need to cope with, and mitigate against, climate change. In addition, agriculture is facing new priorities closer to home as the UK redefines its relationship with Europe. Students will need to be equipped with the latest knowledge to understand this changing farming landscape and face the challenges of livestock and crop management to get the best from an agricultural business by adopting best practices and incorporating the best of current research.

Throughout your training, you will develop a wealth of skills that can be easily transferred into almost any graduate or professional employment situation. Because this degree has a strong vocational and practical element, you will be well-placed for work in the demanding but rewarding agricultural industry.

**Studying for a degree in Agriculture will equip you with a range of transferable skills which are highly valued by employers. These include:**

- Receiving and responding to a variety of sources of information: textual, numerical, verbal, graphical;

- Communicating about their subject appropriately to a variety of audiences using a range of formats and approaches;

- Citing and referencing work in an appropriate manner;

- Sample selection; recording and analysing data in the field and/or the laboratory; validity, accuracy, calibration, precision, repeatability and uncertainty during collection;
