About this course
Kick start your career with this multi-accredited BSc in Accounting and Finance with Marketing at Aberystwyth Business School.
This degree allows you to develop your technical knowledge, skills, and expertise while gaining professional recognition from the world’s leading accountancy bodies such as the **ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, CIPFA, CII, ICSA**. In addition, Aberystwyth University is an accredited **CIM Gateway Centre,** which means that you can study towards a CIM qualification whilst studying for a degree, or gain exemptions for certain CIM modules.
You will be taught by qualified accountants and professionals from the marketing sector, ensuring that you learn from experts with a wealth of industry and academic experience. They will help you discover and understand topics such as financial reporting, management accounting, corporate finance, taxation, audit and computerised accounting systems. As well as with the multidisciplinary understanding of marketing which employers increasingly demand.

What do graduate employment figures really tell you?Want to join a fast-moving, diverse industry that's at the cutting edge of tech? Try marketing! A lot of the jobs are in London, but graduates don't just go to work in advertising agencies — all sorts of industries do their own marketing these days, and with the rise of digital and mobile technology, a lot of marketing is done in quite innovative ways using a wide range of methods. Common industries (apart from advertising and PR) include recruitment, online retail, higher education, banking and IT. A lot of jobs in this industry are handled through recruitment agencies, so if you get in touch with them early, that might give you a headstart for some of the jobs available. But be careful — unpaid working is not the norm in the marketing industry, but it is more common than in most sectors.

What do graduate employment figures really tell you?You don't have to be an accountant if you take this degree, but over half of graduates take a look at the rewards on offer for accountancy trainees and go into the job. Many others go into other parts of the finance industry as advisors or book-keepers, and some go into management or marketing. London is very popular for accountancy graduates going into their first job, but it's also quite common to work in Scotland, with Glasgow a perennial hotbed of Scottish accountancy recruitment. If you want to find a job in finance as an accountancy graduates, recruitment agencies were particularly important last year, so try to get in touch with one as soon as you can to improve your chances.

Over half of finance graduates go into the finance industry, with accountancy and financial advice roles particularly popular. It's also quite common for finance graduates to go into jobs which require you to take more training and gain professional qualifications — finance graduates who take further study are more likely to be studying accountancy than finance. About a third of graduates start their careers in London - but Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham are other popular locations for finance graduates to work.
