About the Which? University Student Survey 2014
Each year, Which? commissions an independent survey of current higher education students in the UK to find out more about their experience of university.
This year we asked 4,519 students (second year and above) to score the degree to which they would describe their university as being sporty, political, creative, having a diverse local nightlife and varied student union activities on offer. We merged these findings with results from our 2013 student survey so we can characterise a greater number of institutions using a larger combined base (of around 12,600 students).
We feature results for 119 institutions. Where we have answers from at least 30 students, we analyse the results to calculate average scores and to highlight groups of top-performing universities for each extra-curricular aspect. The surveys were carried out in October 2014 and July 2013 by YouthSight using a panel of students.
As well as scoring their institutions, current students also provided feedback on what specifically they rate about the extra-curricular offering at their university.
